As a Culver City event photographer, I love photographing bar mitzvahs at Temple Akiba because it’s so close to home.
I met Stash’s mom when I photographed his friend, Zoe’s, bat mitzvah last year. Stash’s mom was impressed with how Zoe’s bat mitzvah photos turned out and decided to hire me to photograph Stash’s bar mitzvah at Temple Akiba in Culver City.
Stash’s family flew in from all over the country for the special occasion and immediately following the service, the Kiddush and reception were also held at the temple. I take school portraits at Stash’s school, so I recognized some of the kids who attended the service, which was conducted by Rabbi Zachary R. Shapiro.
My assistant, Iris, helped out with the bar mitzvah photography and she captured images of the decorations, details, and alternate angles, then as everyone was leaving I took group photos in the picturesque courtyard.
Stash has been working with service dogs for many years and for his mitzvah project, he helped establish a Doggie Play Date pilot program to assist at-risk youth through Mercy Housing of California. It’s always great to capture a special day in a teenager’s life. Our bar mitzvah photography pricing is very competitive, so feel free to inquire about our bar mitzvah photography and videography services if you or your family have a milestone coming up.
