Nate and his family found me through a Google search for Los Angeles Bar Mitzvah Photographer. The family asked that I provide photography and videography services for Nate’s bar mitzvah at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.
The art deco spot is a Los Angeles landmark, which hosted Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra back in the day, so it was cool to be hired as an event photographer at such an iconic venue on the city’s famed Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.
The hotel is a great location for a bar mitzvah in Los Angeles, but as the photographer and videographer I faced some challenges because I was shooting into a mirror, so had to avoid catching myself in the frame! The room also had dim lighting, so I had to bring in lights and make sure they didn’t reflect in the mirror.
Nate and his dad are talented guitar players, so at the end of the service, they performed a song together. Brunch was served afterward in a beautiful room overlooking the outdoor pool. It was a beautiful setting for a family celebration.
