I photograph a lot of school portraits, but it’s always special to be invited to also capture personal milestones in students’ lives, like Zoe’s Bat Mitzvah.
Zoe’s parents loved her school photos so much that they inquired to see if I also photograph Bat Mitzvahs. They were thrilled to hear I did and felt she would be more comfortable with someone she was familiar with, so requested my photography and videography services for the Bat Mitzvah service at Temple Akiba in Culver City. The beautiful temple is perfect for shooting Bat Mitzvahs as it has plenty of natural light, which is crucial at events where I can’t use my flash.
After the service, we headed to The Mark for Events, which was the perfect event venue for the post-celebration. The stylish West Los Angeles party venue was decked out with purple lanterns, a candy bar and a feature wall with Zoe’s name spelled out in lights. It was fun to capture Zoe arriving to a shower of confetti then enjoying her special night with friends and family. It was great to see so many familiar faces at the party and DJ Eddie Entertainment did a fantastic job of getting everyone on the dance floor!
