Mazel tov, Sophie! Sophie’s parents found by Bat Mitzvah photography services through a simple Google search and I was happy to capture their daughter’s special day. The Bat Mitzvah service was held at Temple Isaiah in West Los Angeles. I love photographing Bar/Bat Mitzvahs at Temple Isaiah because of its plentiful windows that stream in tons of natural light – an important thing for a Bat Mitzvah photographer during services when we’re not able to use flash photography. And having recently photographed a Bar Mitzvah there, I was familiar with the layout and the Mitzvah coordinator as well.
Sophie was an expert – often mindful to look up and smile while reading from the Torah.
The reception was held later in the afternoon at the FantaSea Yacht Club in Marina del Rey. There were lots of family and friends who’d flown in from Michigan and they were treated to a one-hour yacht tour around the Marina del Rey harbor, where I was able to capture many family photos.
They also used our photo booth rental service where all of Sophie’s friends could get good and silly. For a full-day shoot, I think it was a great success. And according to Sophie’s mother’s Yelp review, I think she’d agree.
