It was a special day when I got to photograph Isaac’s Bar Mitzvah at Temple Isaiah in West Los Angeles. My son had played on opposing baseball teams with Isaac in Little League and the two went to the same school for a while.
The ceremony and reception were both held at the temple. I arrived early to set up my professional studio lights and photographed Isaac posing with the Torah and family portraits inside the sanctuary. Then we moved outside to take additional family portraits with extended family in front of the temple.
Isaac was eloquent and poised as he read from the Torah. And although his name means “laughter” in Hebrew, he managed to keep a straight face through to the finish! Mazel tov, Isaac.
