Jessica Cluess is ready for her close up. Coffee in hand, she joined me at a Playa Vista park in West Los Angeles to take her author headshots for her forthcoming book – “A Shadow Bright and Burning,” the first in a young adult fantasy trilogy that will be published by Random House Children’s Books this September.
Jessica had noticed my photo credit on author Francesca Lia Block’s recent books and contacted me, looking for both the author headshots as well as professional headshots for social media. I suggested an outdoor headshot photography session because of the relaxed environment and my ability as a professional headshot photographer always enables me to get that polished look while maintaining the natural feel of a person. Indeed, Jessica was a natural in front of the camera and we managed to get several different looks in about an hour.
