I was recently hired to take teen modeling portfolio photos of River in the Playa Vista neighborhood of West Los Angeles. River’s younger brother, Kenai, is also a model and I previously did his youth portrait session as well. River is 17 and has done print ads for Calvin Klein and worked with well-known photographer, Bruce Weber, who is widely-recognized for his work with the top brand.
I’ve been doing River’s modeling and acting headshots for the last five years. For his latest portfolio shoot, we did a variety of close, mid-length and full-length outdoor portraits at a park in Playa Vista. I made the most of the natural light and had him do both smiling and more serious expressions to show his different modeling looks. I think it’s good to show this kind of variety and range when it comes to taking professional teen modeling portfolio photos.
